Inspired by seeing the really funny trailer, I got curious about seeing the movie Comedian with Jerry Seinfeld. It just got out on DVD, but when I just looked it up on the IMDb website, it turns out the actual movie is from 2002… Damn we are slow in this little country…
But besides that, the documentary was quite interesting to watch. Funny at times, but mainly a quite serious look in the stand-up comedy kitchen. They follow Seinfeld when he starts doing a new stand-up act. Doing the same routine for months and months, starting at small comedy places, trying to get it perfect and increasing it minute by minute with new stuff. Amazing process and interesting to watch.
Only where it was fun to watch Seinfeld work on his routine, I got kinda annoyed by the moments where they were following some young arrogant comedian that was trying to get his act together… Damn he was annoying! He might have been funny, but his constant arrogant remarks were just killing. Nevertheless, the movie was interesting and worth seeing.

Almost there. Excitement.
“Should I stop here?”
“No, keep driving!! Stop as close to the beach as possible. I don’t wanne carry them all the way back to here!”
Ignoring street signs that clearly state “no entry for cars”, the car comes to a sudden stop on the final piece of road at the edge of the beach.
“Ok! Let’s go!”
Lights out, engine off, doors fly open, out of the back come plastic bags and a big shovel.
“Where do we start digging?”
“Just here!”
My eyes sweep the beach quickly. Nothing to see. On the ocean in the distance shine some lights from a passing boat. The sound of the wind and waves fill the air.
I shovel, my dad holds the plastic bag open. In no time the first bag is full. The second one follows shortly after. Back to the car.
“Damn this is heavy!”
The two bags land with a smack in the cars trunk. Two more. Go, go, go! A moment of confusion, one plastic bag is almost blown away by the wind. Focus! Bag three is full. Bag four…
“We got spectators!”
“Don’t worry, just keep shoveling!”
A person on a scooter appears 100 meter behind the car on the road to the beach. The scooters lights are off. Strange. While shoveling I wonder why. Bag four is full as well. When carrying the again heavy bags to the car I see the scooter take off. The lights are still off. Even more weird. No time to think about it. Bags in the car, shovel on top, the trunk closes.
“Let’s go!”
I walk to the car door and see two silhouettes of people moving towards us from the beach. We get in. Engine starts. Gear to reverse. Lights… I hesitate… The two people from the beach are getting closer… Driving away without lights might be even more suspisios… Lights on, and we are off!
“Wow, that went fast!”
Relief fills the car. I can’t help but wondering why people were walking on a dark beach… I ease my mind by thinking they must have been doing something dodgy as well! We drive home. Good work. In and out in not much more then 5 minutes. I can’t help but laughing about the whole experience! Smuggeling sand from the beach in the dark, not a typical way to spend a Saturday evening…
Oh, the reason we needed the sand? The bunny. When cleaning her cage a lot of sand disappears with her poo-poo to the trash can, so it was about time to add some fresh sand to her cage. And as my dad refused to let me just buy it in the garden store as I suggested, and insisted on the midnight sand-run, what can I say… It showed tonight I am not much of the smuggling type, so I am just glad it’s over! ;-)

Never thought a movie about revenge could be so funny and ok to watch. The movie: Four Brothers. The story is easily summarized by: Bad guys kill mamma, 4 brothers take revenge. And they take revenge with a hard hand. Any discussion is at least made with throwing a couple of punches, draining people in petrol or waving a gun around. Often the violence seems a bit over the top, but that also made it funny in a strange way.
Maybe I enjoyed it so much because I wasn’t expecting anything. I had only seen a short trailer about the movie on TV, but as those flashy trailers can almost make any movie seem fun I wasn’t putting a lot of value to that. So with an open mind, not knowing what to expect, I sat down and as it turned out, enjoyed the movie.
Ok, it might not have been the best movie ever, but it’s definitely funny and entertaining! So yes, worth seeing if you ask me! :-)

“Brøndbys pølsemand, er Lyngbys gamle pølsemand og de har Danmarks bedste pølser!”
Something you always wanted to know right? For you who don’t read or understand Danish, it states that: Brøndbys sausage man, is the old Lyngby sausage man and he has the best sausages in Denmark.
I learned something new in Danish. Besides quite a variety of random swears, the ability to say “shut up” in many ways, and to make comments about a girls pretty eyes or butt, I can say something new! :-)
Amazing story actually. The Lyngby football team had some financial problems in the 2001/2002 season and was put down to a lower division. But Lyngby was not only known for their football, but also for their sausages! Their legendary sausages were known to be the best in the country! So after Lyngby went to the lower divisions, Brøndby saw their chance and bought Lyngbys sausage man! No idea how much they paid… but I guess Denmarks best sausage man couldn’t have been cheap! :-)
Lovely football transfer! Still fail to see when I will find myself in a situation to actually use the sentence, but well… you never know when it will come in handy! ;-)
