3 weeks ago my dad put about 20 eggs in his breeding machine. The first little chick has hatched today! The sweetest little thing. It is in the aquarium now, under a warm lamp and makes the cutest peeping sound all evening. It gets quiet when it doses off for a couple of seconds, and as soon as it wakes up the soft peeping starts again! All worries seem to disappear like snow before the sun when looking at the pretty little thing… So sweet, so innocent… :-)
There is 15 more eggs to hatch now. And when they do, they will stay here until they are a month old or so, and then my dad will bring them back to the farm where he got the eggs from. Until then it will be great fun to have them around!
Stuart’s little girl Beth has named the first little chick Tikka. Pretty name, so Tikka it will be! Here are the first baby pictures from when Tikka was only 4 hours old! ;-)
